To find out more about NCC's uniqueness ....

Why should I use the North Country Conservancy (NCC) rather than another land conservation organization?
NCC is uniquely organized and exclusively serves the communities of Phoenix, New River, Desert Hills, and Anthem in Arizona.  They are your representatives working to preserve the Daisy Mountain and the conservation values in the area.

How can I become involved with NCC? Are there volunteer opportunities?
We welcome volunteers and will help you find a spot in the organization. Just click on "How to Help" tab at the top of this page.

What is the status of the Daisy Mountain preservation?
As of June 2010 there are no known plans to develop Daisy Mountain but we know it is threatened and will likely be the target for development as soon as the economy gets healthier.  The reasons are:
  • There was an attempt in 2005 but the area was not quite developed enough and we rallied over 1000 people to protest.
  • The area is much more developed than it was in 2005; Anthem is fully built out and Phoenix has developed south and west of the area.
  • The State constitution and statutes mandate that State Trust Land earn money through sales or leases to benefit the beneficiaries.  There is no allowance or way to leave Daisy Mountain as open space even though it could earn the state more money through surrounding land values (higher taxes), job opportunities, business relocating for quality of life, and more.
What is the status of State Trust Lands in general.
