To find out about how NCC conducts business ...

What standards and practices does NCC follow?
In addition to the laws, policies, and statues of United States and Arizona, the entire NCC Board of Directors has signed a commitment to adhere to the Land Trust Alliance's Standards and Practices.  These are guidelines for the responsible operation of a land trust, which is run legally, ethically and in the public interest and conducts a sound program of land transactions and stewardship.

What is Land Trust Alliance (LTA)?
The Land Trust Alliance (LTA)The LTA is a national organization that was founded in 1982 as a 501 (c) (3) not for profit corporation to expand knowledge and expertise to protect land by sharing information and resources to land trusts and working to increase both the quality and pace of land conservation by land trusts and their partners. LTA trains land trust practitioners, promotes best practices, encourages strategic conservation and advocates for incentives and funding for land conservation through:
  • Promoting compliance with LTA Standards and Practices;
  • Providing training opportunities on standards and practices and organizational development topics at the annual LTA Rally;
  • Tracking policy and legislation at the federal level that may affect land trusts and their activities;
  • Providing access to general commercial liability and Directors and Officers insurance.
